Plastic recycling and recovery
Currently, just 9% of plastics are recycled worldwide. But global production is increasing all the time, dominated by China, followed by Europe and the countries of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Without proper collection and recycling, plastics affect our environment, harm the planet and have a long-lasting impact on ecosystems. We have to act now, and provide the appropriate solutions.
In 2023, Veolia recycled 46,000 tons of plastics in the Chinese mainland and all PCR materials have been validated with food grade.
On March 2, 2023, Veolia officially announced in Shanghai the launch of PlastiLoop in the Chinese market, collaborating with partners for promoting the Ecological Transformation in China.
Business Case
Purchase and recycle waste plastic, and produce recycled products, and it is also the firstcompany in Chinese mainland with all PCR materials with food grade validated. Recycled products are made into bottle chips, high-ended recycled chips, recycled fiber, modified engineering plastic and so on, which are being widely used in textile, food & beverages packaging, automobile, household appliances and digital products fields.
Disassembly and recycling of waste electronic equipments
Discarded electronic and electrical products contain valuable recyclable materials, but also hazardous substances that can cause long-term pollution and permanent damage to the environment if not handled properly. With over 20 years of experience in WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) management, Veolia offers comprehensive professional expertise and solutions to responsibly manage and recycle these products.

Hangzhou WEEE Recycling Plant has 6 dismantling lines, which are able to dismantle TV, washer, refrigerator, computer, air conditioner and other electrical products. Capacity: 4.52 million units/year. Total treatment volume: 101,930 tons/year

Business Case
Veolia Foshan Gaoming Domestic Waste Sanitary Landfill is one of the key projects in Guangdong Province as well as Foshan municipality. It is responsible for the treatment to the domestic waste generated in the four areas of Chancheng, Gaoming, Nanhai and Shunde. As a world-class landfill plant, it is also an environmental education site in Foshan.
Treatment capacity reaches to 3,000 tons/day.
Battery disassembly and recovery
Massive incoming volumes of lithium-ion batteries from electric vehicles (EV) and other devices, fast changing regulations and growing concerns over the decarbonisation of activities, drive the need to build large-scale operations and create circular and efficient

Veolia has been specializing in battery treatment and recycling for 30 years. The Group
is now able to collect and recycle almost all Li-ion battery technologies from end-of-life batteries or production scraps thanks to its internal recycling process.
Business Case
The project adopts the self-developed hydrometallurgical crushing & sorting process to solve the safety and occupational problems in the process of battery crushing. The comprehensive recovery rate of nickel, cobalt, manganese and lithium is more than 98.5%.
