Hong Kong District Cooling DHY Joint Venture received “Best Refurbishment and Maintenance Contractor in Occupational Safety and Health – Gold Award”

In recognition of its efforts in maintaining high safety standard to “Zero accident” and outstanding health and safety practices, Hong Kong District Cooling DHY Joint Venture (HKDCJV) was awarded the Gold Award in the category of “Best Refurbishment and Maintenance Contractor in Occupational Safety and Health” on 5 July 2016 at the 17th Construction Safety Forum and Award Presentation Ceremony (“the Ceremony”).

Organized by the Occupational Safety & Health Council, Labour Department and Construction Industry Council of Hong Kong, the award aims at raising awareness on health and safety while working in high-risk industries. The Ceremony is the highlight of this annual campaign to affirm the achievement of contractors which have outstanding performance in health and safety. Competition is fierce this year, a total of 328 entries were competing for safety awards in 7 categories.

This is the second consecutive year for district cooling system operation team to receive award recognition for their commitment to workplace health and safety. “Best Safety Enhancement Program for Working at Height - Gold Award“ was received last year. The operation team will continue to strive for excellence in training, planning and cultivating a safety culture as well as effective implementation.

HKDCJV is the contractor for design, build and operate of District Cooling System Phase II Works at Kai Tak Development in Hong Kong.
